Ambassador AOKI paid a courtesy call to Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan
On February 9, Ambassador AOKI Yutaka paid a courtesy visit to Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. During the meeting, the Prime Minister extended his congratulations to the Ambassador on his new diplomatic role. Prime Minister Pashinyan stressed the importance of fostering continuous growth in economic ties and expressed his appreciation for Japan's support in various fields.
In response, Ambassador AOKI conveyed his strong commitment to enhancing cooperation across multiple fields between the two countries. In addition, Ambassador AOKI informed Prime Minister Pashinyan about Japan's decision to provide additional humanitarian assistance to displaced persons from Nagorno-Karabakh. Following the 2 million USD emergency humanitarian aid provided in October 2023, the Japanese Government has now allocated 3 million USD in cooperation with UNDP for a project aimed at Supporting Basic Infrastructure and Social Integration for Displaced Persons from Nagorno-Karabakh and Host Communities. Armenia's participation in the 2025 Osaka-Kansai Expo and other topics were also discussed.
