Minister for Foreign Affairs Mr. Taro Kono's visit to Armenia

On September 3, Minister for Foreign Affairs Mr. Taro Kono visited Armenia, as the first Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan to visit Armenia. Besides the Foreign Ministerial meeting with Mr. Z. Mnatsakanyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs of RA, Minister for Foreign Affairs Taro Kono also made a courtesy call to President Mr. A. Sarkissian and Prime-Minister Mr. N. Pashinyan. During the Foreign Ministerial meeting the "Caucasus Initiative" consisting of two pillars of human resource development, infrastructure development and business environment improvement support was proposed with the expectation of future development of cooperative relations. Also based on the signature of the bilateral investment agreement in February this year, discussions were held on cooperation in economic fields such as IT, tourism, innovation and human exchange.
