Signing Ceremony of Exchange of Notes between Japan and Armenia for the Cultural Grant Assistance ”Project for the Improvement of Equipment for Restoration and Conservation of Archaeological Artifacts for the Scientific-Research Center of the Historical and Cultural Heritage”

On February 16, 2018 in the Embassy of Japan the signing ceremony of exchange of notes (E/N) was held between Japan and Armenia for the Cultural Grant Assistance ”Project for the Improvement of Equipment for Restoration and Conservation of Archaeological Artifacts for the Scientific-Research Center of the Historical and Cultural Heritage”.
E/N was signed by H.E. Mr. Eiji Taguchi, Ambassador of Japan to the Republic of Armenia, and H.E. Mr. Armen Amiryan, Minister of Culture of the Republic of Armenia, in the presence of Mr. Manabu Horii, Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan and Mr. Armen Papikyan, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia.
From Armenian side Deputies of the National Assembly (Armenia-Japan Friendship group), including Mr. Samvel Farmanyan, Head of Armenia-Japan Parliamentary Friendship Group, as well as representatives of the RA President’s office, RA Government, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of RA, Ministry of Economic Development and Investments of RA, Ministry of Culture of RA, etc. also participated in the event.
Through this Project, the Government of Japan will grant sixty-nine million, seven hundred thousand Japanese Yen (¥ 69,700,000) to the Recipient.
Following the E/N signing ceremony, the Grant Agreement (G/A) was signed between Mr. Katsutoshi Fushimi, Chief Representative of Japan International Cooperation (JICA) Uzbekistan Office and H.E. Mr. Armen Amiryan, Minister of Culture of the Republic of Armenia.
This project contributes to support Armenia’s efforts to preserve tangible cultural heritage for the future generation and establish a bridge from past to future, taking into account that both Japan and Armenia have long history and rich traditions and cultural heritage is an irreplaceable asset and inspiration for both nations.
