November 9-10, Japanese Traditional Music Concert dedicated to the 25th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between Japan and Armenia

Japanese Traditional Music Concert was held in Yerevan State Puppet Theatre named after Hovhannes Toumanyan on 9th (Thu) and 10th (Fri) of November, 2017 dedicated to the 25th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between Japan and Armenia. The concert hall was full of the audience on both days, enjoying the performances played by Japanese traditional instruments, including Tsugaru Shamisen (Japanese guitar), Shinobue (Japanese bamboo flute), Shakuhachi (Japanese bamboo musical instrument) that were welcomed by rapturous applauses and feedbacks. Armenian traditional duduk and other woodwind instruments player, Hayk Karapetyan, also performed in the concert, collaborating with Japanese musicians.
Besides, on 10th of November, a special workshop was organized at the Musical school after Alexander Spendiaryan. Many teachers and pupils participated in it with great interest. In scope of the workshop Japanese musicians demonstrated Japanese traditional musical instruments and got acquainted with Armenian traditional music and instruments, playing music together in the end.

Productive workshop at the Spendiaryan Music School
Besides, on 10th of November, a special workshop was organized at the Musical school after Alexander Spendiaryan. Many teachers and pupils participated in it with great interest. In scope of the workshop Japanese musicians demonstrated Japanese traditional musical instruments and got acquainted with Armenian traditional music and instruments, playing music together in the end.
