The Embassy of Japan in Armenia is seeking an External Consultant for the “Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GGP)”.
 
Position: Consultant for the "Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GGP)”
Type of Contract: Individual Contract
Duration: 1 August 2023 – 31 March 2024 (with possible extension up to 3 years, based on the agreement with the Embassy)
Starting Date: 1 August 2023 (flexible; to be agreed with the Embassy)
Application Deadline: 28 May 2023
 
Responsibilities include:
General tasks
  1. to receive applications and manage data related to applications,
  2. to technically review applications,
  3. to facilitate the implementation of ongoing projects,
  4. to monitor past and ongoing projects,
  5. to communicate with GGP applicants and implementing partners, and
  6. to prepare reports.
 
Specific project-related tasks
  1. to conduct preliminary field surveys,
  2. to conduct monitoring visits (e.g. progress monitoring, mid-term monitoring and confirmation of completion of the projects),
  3. to conduct follow-up visits for the completed projects,
  4. to assist organizing the ceremonies, and
  5. to collect and analyze information related to the GGP.

Requirements:
  • Work and resident permit in Armenia
  • University degree
  • Proficiency in English and Armenian languages (good command of Japanese language is an asset)
  • Minimum two years of professional experience (working experience in diplomatic missions, international organizations and/or governmental institutions are desirable)
  • Computer literacy (Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Good health
 
Terms of Contract:
  • The contract fee is expected in the range of 350,000-500,000 AMD per month (to be offered based on qualifications and experience of the Consultant).
  • The Consultancy, by nature, is not an employment provided by the Embassy of Japan. The Embassy commissions the Consultant to perform tasks related to GGP and the Embassy pays a fixed monthly fee for the service.
  • There is no definition of workplace and working hours under the Individual Contract, however, the current Consultant works in the following condition (subject to change taking into consideration of different factors):
  1. Workplace: Hybrid of office-duty and remote work
  2. Working hours: 9:15 – 18:00 (break 13:00 – 14:00)
  3. Day-offs: Weekends and Embassy holidays
